Want to know how to make more horsepower with a Small Block Chevy running a cast iron intake manifold? The answer is simple: Change the intake manifold!!!!
Our Stage 1 Intake Manifolds are ported as much as possible through the plenum area (this is the area under the carburetor) and the port openings. The Stage 1 modifications are performed with a CNC machine, finish ported to a Fel Pro 1204 gasket size and shot blasted to disguise the porting marks. 80% of the internal surface of the Stage 1 intake manifold has been modified. However, the outside of the manifold is not altered. The results: A stock looking intake manifold from the outside with up to a 26 horsepower gain. Our Fully Modified Intake Manifolds are more extensively ported Stage 1 manifolds. In addition to the CNC machining, porting and plenum area modifications, Fully Modified manifolds are also modified through 4 large access ports. These access ports allow us to modify 100% of the internal surfaces of the intake. The additional modifications result in an additional 10 to 15 horsepower gain over the Stage 1 intake manifolds while maintaining a stock external appearance.

The port openings on our modified intake manifolds are just a touch larger than the stock size. To kept them looking as stock as possible, the port openings are finished in a rough carbide and shot blasted. Keeping the ports small and with a rough finish – not large, smooth and shinny - will fool many people if the intake is inspected.
Don’t be Stuck with Cast Iron. All our intake manifolds maintain a stock external appearance with the original castings numbers. What this means to you is that from the outside no one will ever know you have a modified intake.
