Cummins 5.9 Diesel Cast Iron Cylinder Heads
It took a lot of work to get this 30" long cylinder head on our CNC Machine. Porting the Cummins 5.9 diesel head is monumental job; the CNC machine is essential to getting the porting done more quickly and with minimal variation from cylinder to cylinder.

The stock Cummins 12 valve cylinder head will flow 145 cfm exhaust and 133 cfm on the intake side. With our Stage 1 Diesel CNC Porting, the air flow will improve to 158 cfm exhaust and 149 cfm intake. What even more power? Stepping up to Stage 2 Diesel CNC Porting will improve the exhaust air flow to 180 and the intake to 170 cfm.
The stock Cummins 24 valve cylinder head flows 170 cfm exhaust and 151 on the intake side. After our Stage 1 Diesel CNC Porting the exhaust improves to 199 cfm while the intake will flow 180 cfm. Want to step up your program a bit more? With Stage 2 Diesel CNC Porting the exhaust will flow 210 and the intake 201 cfm.

Our custom flow testing equipment is essential to perform accurate development work on this popular cylinder head. Note our ability to accurately open both intake valves at the same time. Also, the custom aluminum Slider allows us to flow test all the cylinders without lifting the head! And this head weighs a lot. |
